Like a lot of guys my age (33) I have the flawed belief that golf was an “old man” sport, or a sport for the rich kids. I’m now embarrassed that I ever thought that. Although, Tiger Woods made golf cool I think that far too many people overlook golf as a sport that would benefit kids in school.
The simple truth about golf is that anyone, and I mean anyone can play. The old, the young, men, women, black, white, etc. It doesn’t matter. Golf is a game anyone can learn, and few will ever master. I took up golf as a way to get out of my office and get some exercise. Funny enough, I have my 17 year old son to thank for me taking up golf to begin with.
Golf is a game that will not only help you get some exercise, but it can also teach strategy, planning, and best of all patience. In today’s age of Xbox’s, PS3′s, Facebook, and all the other techno gadgets, golf is an activity that will get our kids out of the house and learning something along the way.
